A place of rest for the body and mind, and renewal of the spirit
A place for Outdoor Ministry on behalf of the American Baptist Churches of Connecticut

Attendees will enjoy the use of a private retreat house with multiple bedrooms, modern kitchen, and Great room.  The retreat center does have a large dining room and kitchen staff located in a separate building.  We will take advantage of the staff if we are comfortable doing so, otherwise we can prepare and eat our meals in our private kitchen.

Theme: Preaching that Keeps the Preacher’s Soul Alive

Sermon preparation can deplete our souls or fill our hearts.  This is true for each step in the process—reading the story, looking for God, arranging ideas, and sharing what we find.  We will explore preaching that keeps the preacher’s soul alive in four conversations over four texts:

Preaching with Imagination / Isaiah 6

Preaching with Courage / Luke 4:14-30

Preaching with Honesty / Psalm 23

Preaching with Joy / 2 Samuel 6
