Pastor Notes…

We live in a time of increasing fear and insecurity. The fear and insecurity come from apprehension about the future and the effects of actions by others. The reality is that we do not need to be insecure if in fact we have placed our minds and hearts in the right location. The Lord says 365 times in Scripture that we are not to be afraid but to trust in The Lord. We respond that it is easier said than done but it is a choice just like any other hard choice we make in life be it in trusting our spouse, our child, ourselves to do the right thing. The Lord will never forsake or disappoint and sometimes we simply have to keep repeating that to ourselves to allay fears and apprehensions.

Founders Congregational Church, Harwinton, CT

Founders Congregational Church was organized in 1961 in recognition of the growing need for a Congregational Church in Harwinton that would  perpetuate the democratic and autonomous traditions of Protestant free    churches.
The Church was incorporated in 1962.  The Meeting House was erected and completed, and in March 1964, dedicated to the worship of God through our  Lord Jesus Christ.
Founders is a member of the Fellowship of Northeast Congregational      Christian Churches and the National Association of Congregational            Christian Churches.
It is with pride that we link our founding with the landing of the Pilgrims in 1620.  We look to them for our heritage of historic religious freedom as  members of the Congregational Way,  recognizing always that, “The Lord  hath more truth and light to break forth out of His Holy Word.”
